ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines - The Philippine government's security forces freed a kidnapped Chinese national after they raided the training camp of the Abu Sayyaf group in southern Philippines, a police official said Friday.

Chief Superintendent Napoleon Estilles, police director for Western Mindanao, also disclosed that the attack on the Abu Sayyaf hideout at the village of Calabasa Thursday morning resulted in the death of five of its members.

Government security forces presented the rescued Chinese national Yuankai Lin alias Jampong Lin, 38, to the media during a briefing here.

"I'm happy with the Philippine authorities who helped me. I am fine," said Lin.

Lin was one of the two Chinese mining traders who were kidnapped in Kabasalan of Zamboanga Sibugay province on June 4.

The other victim, Jian Luo, alias James Luo, 43, was freed on August 26 after he reportedly paid a ransom of 5 million pesos ?( $118,595).

Estilles said the rescue of Lin was just "coincidental" as the sole objective of government troops was to raid the Abu Sayyaf's training camp.

Killed during the attack were Termiji Hajijul, leader of the Abu Sayyaf group's Zamboanga cell and his wife Sitti Radja Salvin, Abu Ulm, Arab-Arab, and Banh-Banah.

Government security forces believe that four other Abu Sayyaf members were wounded in the raid included Khair Mundos, a ranking leader of the rogue group.
