Germany and Spain won must-win matches yesterday and entered the semifinals of the men's hockey tournament.

Spain beat South Korea 2-1 to top group A with 12 points. Germany rediscovered its best form to score an imposing 3-1 victory over New Zealand and finished second with 11 points.

South Korea and New Zealand were eliminated with 7 points each.

In tomorrow's semifinals, Spain will play Australia, second-placed team in Group B, while Germany takes on the Netherlands.

In yesterday's matches, the Netherlands defeated Pakistan 4-2 while Australia's Eddie Ockenden scored with two minutes remaining to earn his team a 3-3 draw against Great Britain.
