 十七屆三中“全會(huì)”

10月9日至12日中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨第十七屆中央委員會(huì)第三次全體會(huì)議在北京召開(kāi)。會(huì)后發(fā)布了第十七屆中央委員會(huì)第三次全體會(huì)議公報(bào)。公報(bào)確認(rèn)了未來(lái)農(nóng)村改革的主要方向，包括積極發(fā)展現(xiàn)代農(nóng)業(yè)，提高農(nóng)業(yè)綜合生產(chǎn)能力；加快發(fā)展農(nóng)村公共事業(yè)，促進(jìn)農(nóng)村社會(huì)全面進(jìn)步等。

The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on Sunday approved a decision on major issues concerning rural reform and development at the close of a four-day plenum.
為期四天的中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨中央委員會(huì)全體會(huì)議于周日（10月12日）結(jié)束，會(huì)議就農(nóng)村改革與發(fā)展等主要問(wèn)題達(dá)成決議。
上面的報(bào)道中，The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee就是“中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨中央委員會(huì)”的英文全稱；plenum就是我們要說(shuō)的“全體會(huì)議”或“全會(huì)”的英文說(shuō)法，plenum在英文中的解釋是a meeting of a deliberative assembly in which all members are present（決策機(jī)構(gòu)/組織全體成員都出席的會(huì)議），它的形容詞形式是plenary，那么“第十七屆中央委員會(huì)第三次全體會(huì)議”就是the third Plenum（Plenary Session） of the 17th Communist Party of China Central Committee。
與plenum意思相對(duì)的詞是quorum，a gathering of the minimal number of members of an organization to conduct business，即“法定（最少）人數(shù)”，例如：What is the quorum of this assembly? （該會(huì)議的法定人數(shù)是多少？）
