The 15th Beijing International Film Festival will be held from April 18 to 26 in Beijing, China.
Chinese director and actor Jiang Wen will serve as the jury president of the Tiantan Award, the event's top honor.
The 15th Beijing International Film Festival opened in Huairou on Friday night. This year, it received 1,794 submissions from 103 countries and regions, up 18.9% from last year. The festival, running until April 26, will select 10 Tiantan Awards from 15 nominated films. Jurors shared their experiences and views. Also, there are tributes to cinematic masters, and the Beijing Film Panorama will screen about 300 films.
Every spring, film fans from across the country flock to Beijing like migratory birds to see the best films on the big screen at the Beijing Film & Life Festival. This year's BJIFF introduces three one-stop travel routes that will allow film fans to better explore the visual tapestry of this oriental film capital.
The first stop of the Beijing Film & Life Festival is the Daguanlou Cinema in Dashilar, a historic landmark closely tied to early Chinese cinema.
The Beijing Film & Life Festival will hold a series of film-loving activities at Langyuan Station and InStreet of the FengHuang Hui Shopping Mall from April 18 to 26, in tandem with the Beijing International Film Festival.
