China vows resolute measures against tariffs

In response to Washington's latest announcement to increase its tariffs on China to a total of 104 percent, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that China "will continue to take resolute measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests".
Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian made the remarks at a regular daily news conference in Beijing.
The Chinese people's legitimate right to development cannot be deprived, and China's sovereignty, security and development interests cannot be infringed upon, he said.
"We will continue to take resolute measures to safeguard our legitimate rights and interests," he added.
When asked about the trade wars in the world, the spokesman said, "China is willing to work with various parties to adhere to genuine multilateralism, jointly oppose all forms of unilateralism and protectionism, join hands to defend against risks and challenges, and push for the realization of universal and inclusive economic globalization."
